C U Soon…
Have you seen this Malayalam movie yet? It’s on Amazon Prime with subtitles.
Shot during the lockdown, using phones and mostly on computer screens, C U Soon is a taut thriller, starring Fahadh Faasil, one of India’s most talented actors.
They experimented, used minimal resources, and came up with an excellent product.
All during a time when most of the film industry was twiddling their thumbs, or making Insta videos of doing daily chores like washing dishes and sweeping.
What does that tell you? A lot actually.
That one does not have to despair in adverse circumstances…
that where there is a will, there is a script…
that so-called Indian regional cinema regularly comes up with path-breaking stories (much more than Bollywood)…
that life is a story, only if you care to open the pages and read it….
