Consulted over 30 entities for regulatory authorisations from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). These included firms that sought authorisations for asset management, investment banking, market making, investment advisory, management of collective investment funds and providing credit.

Assisted in the authorisation of a JV between a European investment bank and an Indian client. This was a turnkey project and involved obtaining regulatory authorisations, drafting JV agreements, and creating the legal structures.

Led the team that assisted in the authorisation of a leading investment advisory firm from India. Consulted on legal structures as well. The firm went on to upgrade it’s license subsequently.

Consulted a leading player in the power infrastructure space, on establishing a presence in the ADGM and obtaining regulatory authorisations. This was a joint venture with a high-profile local investor. The firm obtained a Category 2 license.

I am a regular presenter at trade delegations who visit the United Arab Emirates. I advise on the business landscape, the opportunities in various sectors, and on entry strategies. Have been associated, from the past eight years, with the ‘Doing Business’ project from the World Bank Group, which provides objective measures of business regulations for local firms in 190 economies and selected cities at the subnational level.
