Tamas has been taken care of. Rajas is next.
These four days, I haven’t had tea or coffee. Most of us find caffeine to be the most difficult to control. You absolutely need that early morning cup of tea or coffee and some more to get you through the day.
Or so you think.
We don’t need a lot of stuff that we think we do…until we are left without them. This can be things, habits, even people. We build stories around the stuff that we get used to, just to keep them in our lives. Some part of it becomes addiction – I cannot do without it. Just one more will not harm me.
Just try. It is easier than you think. As they say – it is all in the mind. Our body just reacts to signals from the mind…if the mind wants it – whatever you do, you cannot resist. If your mind does not want it…you are not even remotely interested…
And that is why today I focused on prānāyāma.
Avyakta Yog- Day 4
- Yogic warm up
- Tadasana
- Shavasana
- Balasana
- Balasana variation
- Adho Mukha Shvanasana
- Ujjayi pranayama
- Shavasana
I would recommend that you try Udyana Avagāhan this weekend. The weather is getting better and it is ideal towards the end of the fast, when the body is physically at it’s weakest. Another thing you may notice, if you measure it that is, that your resting heart rate decreases as you progress through your fast – logical, since your body is more at rest (rather than processing food all the time). And if you have put in your 30-40 minute yoga and prānāyāma, you will find quite a different you on Dussehra.
This is the fourth part in the series:
