The echoes of an April that passed us a couple of years ago – when Dubai was under water after a deluge of epic proportions. Well, not so epic this time (thankfully), actually, nowhere near it, but we are back at Treppan nevertheless. For those who don’t know, Treppan is the Hotel Apartment provider where we spent a couple of months in 2024 during the renovation of our house, and here is where we witnessed the aforementioned ‘deluge of epic proportions.’
Why are we here? The mains tripped, thanks to water that seeped through, in spite of the extensive waterproofing that we had carried out thanks to the 2024 experience. Not a good job of it evidently. So here I am, reminiscing as I am typing, and wondering where the last two years went. Time flies, and in this case, faster than the speed of thought.
So much for whining about an otherwise wonderful bout of weather. Dubai is so beautiful when it rains – the dust settles and the skies clear – a picturesque beauty enhanced by the feeling of the cool breeze that follows the downpour. Ah, if only the waterproofing had held:(
