A power-packed Sunday.
Two kids held the power, we prodded along, listening to close to seventy renditions of the same jokes, addressing a million “I wants” and balancing TV time with “please go play by yourself” requests, most of which expectedly went unheeded.
Apple TV allows you to rent movies for 30 days, and 48 hours to finish the movie once started. Keshav apparently has been through their Ts&Cs, and so he chose to see Minions and Monsters again today morning. A proud papa seeing the kid extracting his money’s worth, and also wondering what happens when the request repeats tomorrow.
Caught up with Yash in Aap Ki Adalat, and it was a refreshing interview – proud that Karnataka now has a cine representation on the world stage. Yash comes across as polite, yet very clear on his value proposition, and humble enough to acknowledge his roots. No fake accent Bandra style:)
We did make a trip to Mini Bounce in the evening, where a lot of happy bouncers (over 5 feet tall) played around kids who seemed pretty content tossing balls at each other. Given the prices, I thought it would be a great idea to pack in a bounce or two myself, since we were allowed two adults for free, but then work took over and I sadly had to be content watching them play while I exchanged notes with my AI assistants.
Dinner was at Malgudi, where the food is good but the parking is abysmal. We tried the Bisi Bele Bibinbap, which supposedly is a take on the Bisi Bele Bhath that folks from my ooru Bengaluru have a love-hate relationship with. Surprisingly, the Korean was missing from the dish, save an odd reference to bell peppers, which led me to think – why not just call it Bisi Bele Bhath and play Gangnam Style to go along with it? Yes, I agree. This is why I don’t have a restaurant (yet).
A busy weekend, an even busier week ahead. Wish me luck!
