Today, as I was driving, the OST of Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana (Kannada movie) was playing in the car when Sojugada started. A different rendition, but my ears perked up nevertheless. And it brought back memories of the first time when I heard the song at the Mahashivratri celebrations.
Ananya Bhat, stole hearts and minds with her soulful rendition of this song, and today when it came back to me, I just had to dig deeper. And I did some reading, and some thinking, and now I love the song even more…
So today, I leave you with the song itself, and it’s lyrics in Kannada. You may not know the language, but if you haven’t heard the song before, I can guarantee that you will not need to know the language. It speaks to you in a way that it touches your consciousness – straight through the heart.
