A bit of horology, a dash of writing instruments, vintage memories, three ladies holding a silly screenplay – this Sunday that went past.
Started Made in India – the Titan Story, and the ever dependable Jim Sarbh hit the ball out the park in Episode 1. I think he has a nice little niche – the Parsi connect – and even if he uses just this, his career is set for the next decade or two. Wonderful stories he chooses, and somehow makes each one of his character depictions as genuine as the next. This too, has an interesting premise and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
The writing instruments piece I did cover in yesterday’s blog, although a few more minutes were devoted to the subject today – Urushi and Pelikan dominated the conversations in my mind. Fascinating as they are, a couple of thoughts also went to the erstwhile Hero pen, which does survive in a watered (or inked) down avatar for aficionados to walk down memory lane ever once in a while. Don’t know if they write (or leak) the same though.
Madhuri Dixit, once known for her lovely expressions on screen, seems to have chosen (only) one from her repertoire to carry on the rest of her resurrected career. She had this expression in Mrs. Deshpande (which was so silly in itself, that series) and she uses exactly the same in Maa Behn, whose trailer was more enjoyable than the movie. Tripti Dimri saved the day with her acting, else the movie was a drag. Avoidable.
So there goes a weekend, that also had Mitisha ma’am, Dino reveal and Juhi (courtesy Keshav) playing in the background in generous measure, and one prepares for the weekly onslaught of tasks, meetings and challenges that make one’s day so exciting. See you tomorrow!
